The game is a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer reminiscent of the original Sonic games, with an emphasis on speed. The game was first announced on September 8, 2009, and its real name was revealed on February 4, 2010. This episode was released in October 2010 it was originally to be released in the summer of 2010 but was pushed back for further development.
